How Does the Turnstile Gate Work? Why Doesn't It Nip Pedestrians? Oct 14, 2019

The turnstile gate is very common in life. It can be seen in hotels and large shopping malls. The safety sensor plays an important role in preventing the pedestrian from being caught in the pedestrian turnstile gate. What are the turnstile sensors? 1. Contact anti pinch sensor

In order to prevent the rotating fan frame of the turnstile gate from pushing pedestrians during the operation, a contact type anti pinch sensor is installed in the anti pinch rubber strip installed on the column of the exhibition box and the column on the right side of the entrance and exit. If the door leaf stops rotating and reverses for 60cm in case of encountering objects or pedestrian pressure, so as to prevent the pedestrian from being hurt. Until the rubber strip is restored to normal state by the sensor, the turnstile gate will also return to normal operation 。


2. Infrared anti pinch sensor of exhibition box

In order to prevent the rotating fan frame of the turnstile gate from colliding with pedestrians in operation, an infrared safety sensor is installed on the top of the turnstile gate canopy to form a downward emitting detection beam from the top. When an object or pedestrian is detected between the door leaf and the column, the turnstile gate shall stop rotating immediately to prevent the pedestrian from being squeezed.


3. Infrared radiation sensor

One is located on the arc wing of the turnstile gate and the column of the exhibition box door, 685mm from the ground. When perceiving pedestrians or objects (i.e. the ray is blocked), the turnstile gate rotates slowly; after elimination, the turnstile gate returns to normal operation in 2 seconds.


The other is located at the bottom of the arc gate wing of the turnstile gate and on the column of the exhibition box, 85mm from the ground. When perceiving pedestrians or objects, the turnstile gate stops immediately. It is used in combination with the deceleration counter shooting sensor to prevent pedestrian from being hurt and pinched.


4. Rotating wing anti pinch sensor

It is installed at the lower part of the anti clamping strip of the rotating wing. When pedestrians or objects are blocked, the rotating door will automatically stop rotating to ensure the safety of pedestrians' feet and pets. When pedestrians or pets are detected to leave, the rotating door will resume operation.


5. Column anti pinch sensor

It is installed near the ground on the right side of the entrance and exit of the turnstile gate. When the curved wall of the turnstile gate's exhibition box moves to the right column 500-600mm, it starts to work. When the object is sensed, the turnstile gate stops. To ensure the safety of pedestrian foot and pet, it is used together with infrared anti pinch sensor of outer doorpost to eliminate the blank sensing area and realize all-round protection for fellow travelers.


6. Anti pinch sensor in the main dangerous area

It is installed at the bottom of the canopy at the entrance and exit of the turnstile gate. The sensing angle is vertical downward. It starts to work when the arc gate wing is 500-600mm away from the column, and ends when all the arc gate wings pass through the column. When pedestrians or objects enter the sensing area, the turnstile gate stops running, effectively preventing pedestrians from being caught; when pedestrians or objects leave, the turnstile gate returns to normal operation.
